PULSED PRODUCTION OF ANTIHYDROGEN (02.2021)
A joint team of scientists from the AEgIS and Antiproton Decelerator groups demonstrated the possibility of pulsed production of antihydrogen atoms, which allows us to determine the time of their occurrence with high accuracy.
Antihydrogen atoms with ultra-low temperature under controlled and well-defined conditions are a powerful tool for accurately investigating the validity of the laws of fundamental physics.
In particular, this will allow us to implement experiments on direct measurements of the applicability of the weak equivalence principle for antimatter, such as measuring the gravitational interaction of matter and antimatter.
